Kansas Turnpike bridge + dirty car windows

Nikon D750, Sigma 35mm f/1.4

Just a quick shot I took as my husband was driving 75+ miles per hour down the Kansas Turnpike a few months ago. Taking photos while riding in the car is quite an interesting practice—you never know what you’ll get or how an image might turn out as you’re moving down the road. I find that often it’s a helpful way for me to cope and have something to focus on. And I love trying to capture the beautiful golden sunset light when I have the opportunity.

I decided to share some of the photos and writing I’ve shared over on my Flickr account. If you’re interested in seeing more of those images you can check them out here.

Sometimes I have no words and I use my camera to speak for me- wife, mom to 4, saved by grace, documentary photographer, viola player, looking for light, therapeutic photography, fighting for mental health
